Why is my domain address not working?

I need to know what is going on. I renewed my domain EverdayPublicRelations.org with WordPress back in September 2011 For $12 after receiving an email telling me it was about to expire. Then I noticed that when I went to the page all I got was a 404 error. In my dashboard it shows that the domain is active. So I check my Godaddy account where I have other domains registered and even though it is not listed a support person tells me it is definitely listed with them. Just last week I get an email from them that I need to renew with THEM or else the domain will expire. I try to log on and now it appears that although I can log on to my dashboard, someone else now controls my actual site and I can’t get a straight answer from anyone. What exactly did I pay for back in September? Why is my blog not active? Why am I paying WordPress and GoDaddy for the same domain? and still not getting an active web page? Please help.

You’re paying GoDaddy for the domain registration and us for the Domain Mapping, which directs the domain to your WordPress.com blog.
However, you’re directing the domain elsewhere, so you really don’t need Domain Mapping. Would you like me to cancel that from your account?
As for http://www.everydaypublicrelations.org/ it is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.
