Why is my domain still showing my wordpress blogsite and not my shopify store?

I have a blog site (oliviagrahamcashmere.wordpress.com) and recently bought a domain (oliviagrahamcashmere.com) On my blog site the primary domain selected is the wordpress one.
Recently I have created a shopify site, and would like to use the domain oliviagrahamcashmere.com as the domain for this site, have read help line/blog/info tips for hours, followed links and notes to change cname, add the ip address all of that, but what I have now is when all versions of oliviagrahamcashmere go to the wordpress site, none go to the shopify site – even though in wordpress all the IP addresses etc have been updated. Am very worried. Please advise.

Hi Olivia,
When I go to your domain now, it points to Shopify. There’s likely some other step you need to take on their end to make your shopify URL redirect to your domain, rather than the other way around as it’s doing now, but it looks like the steps you needed to take on our end are all done.
When you make changes to your DNS it can take up to 24-72 hours to update everywhere, so you likely just needed to give it a bit more time. :)

Thank you – you are quite right and happily it is now working, have to be honest though it took me 2-3 hours of searching and following and trying several differing info links before I manged to do the changes, hence my suprise that they actually worked!
