why is my email address etc showing under Leave A Reply?

  I recently (yesterday) went public and got, I think, some trackbacks or pings (not entirely sure how they work) but now I can see my blog name, email address and website name where it says ‘Leave A Reply’. On one other posts it says ‘1 comment’ but I can’t see the comment. How do I prevent my email etc from showing and also repeating parts of the post in the response (I deleted it manually)?

  Are you logged in to wordpress.COM? If you are logged in, those boxes don’t even show. I just checked to be sure.

  Hi. Yes. I’m logged in and they don’t show. But when I log out the boxes under Leave A Reply are filled in and show my email address. How can I delete this as it should be the commenter leaving their details. I have unchecked ‘comment author must fill out name and email’ plus the ‘users must be registered and logged in to comment’. Nothing happens.

  When you are logged out it shows to YOU until you clear the cookies on that computer. It will not show to other people.

  I see. I’ve cleared the cookies and yes its OK now. Thanks so much. But if I don’t require users to be registered etc, why do those boxes show? Can I remove the email part of the box or all the boxes? Many thanks for your response.

  Not without the paid CSS upgrade and some CSS editing experience, and even then, sometimes the name/email/website fields are tied into the reply box, so hiding one hides them all. It varies from theme to theme as all designers are different and have different ways of doing things.

  The forums I’ve noticed lately sometimes seem to have a lag and I’ve done the same thing and replied twice. Probably just busy servers or perhaps a tiny bug somewhere gnawing on a cable.
