Why is my featured image blurry?

    I’ve noticed recently that the featured images on posts in my blog are a little blurry. This is despite them being 2000×3000 pixels and plenty sharp when viewed before upload. The theme crops the top and bottom off the image, so it is cropping and not stretching them – but why do they blur?

    BTW The theme is Twenty-Fifteen…

    Hi @mjacks2000! For the Twenty Fifteen theme, let’s look at the theme showcase, which includes recommended featured image sizes. Per that page:

    Featured Images are 825 wide by 510 high

    That means the 2000×3000 pixel images you are using do not fit into the theme’s specification for featured images. For best results and to remove the blurriness, please try scaling the images to the recommended size.
