Why is my featured image showing as an overlay on home page for the Stay theme?

When I add my featured image to my home page for the “Stay” theme, it shows fine at the top, but as I scroll down you can see it again underneath as if it were a background pic and I’m not sure why.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you set a static page as your front and select the Home template for it, what you see at the top isn’t just an image, it’s the pages slider. The slider is supposed to link to other pages, but you made it link to the same page, so you’re seeing the same featured image twice (and the slider is useless in this case, as it links to the page we’re already seeing). If you want to display other pages in the slider, you need to create these pages and set featured images to them, not to the page you’ve set as your front. If you don’t want to display other pages in the slider, you cannot use the slider: you need to edit your page and select the default template for it.
