Why can't I add extra spaces?
-
After I carefully format each paragraph and post to contain the correct number of spaces between lines- we post a lot of recipes- when I publish the post, all the spaces I entered between sections disappear. It’s as though the “return” or “enter” key doesn’t register at all. What is the problem? It is making me want to use a different site to host our blog as this is a huge waste of time, and makes our posts look very unprofessional, as well as making them difficult to read for our customers.

Hi there,
We automatically remove the extra spaces. Any space “entered” into your Editor will be registered as a new paragraph, which typically provides enough space for users.
Would you mind providing me with a link to one of your recipe pages to see if there’s anything else we can do to help make the appearance easier to read?

Thanks for any help! Maybe I need to better understand paragraph formatting. -
Hi there,
I see a few extra <div></div> tags in the HTML for that post and have removed them for you. You can check this out by going to your Edit Post page and clicking on the HTML tab above the Editor.
With HTML for your blog posts, simpler tends to be better. If you see any <div>’s, feel free to remove them. You can add spaces by either pressing Enter or adding a <p>, which stands for “paragraph” in Internet browser-speak.
In the future, if the spacing or layout in any of your posts seems a little off, go ahead and explore the HTML Editor. If anything seems cluttered or if you see extra tags, especially <div>’s, you may want to try removing them.
If you’re nervous about messing up your post, feel free to contact us again for some guidance :)
