In addition to the column option disappearing, I am no longer able to link photos to particular pages on my website when they’re arranged in a gallery. Everything worked fine two days ago.

There’s no known issue I am aware of.

Thank you very much for your quick response and your time. I completed everything on the list except at the end of #3 – I was not able to locate a padlock icon on my Mac’s address bar.
#6. a. I’m on a Macbook Pro laptop.
b. I’m using Chrome 38.
c. I’m new to Word Press and trying to set up my website. On Friday everything worked perfectly. However, yesterday and today, I was not able to do the following tasks that I was able to complete on Friday:
1. Link my gallery photos to pages on my site (after attaching/linking them through the Media Library first).
2. Select the number of gallery columns because that option somehow “disappeared”.Perhaps I clicked on or off something in my settings when I was trying to create my site. (There were no error reports.)
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Wonderful news! I was able to link the gallery photos to various pages by just adding a title.
My gallery column option is still missing. If you could help me with that, I would be thrilled.
Thank you again.

1. Link my gallery photos to pages on my site (after attaching/linking them through the Media Library first).
2. Select the number of gallery columns because that option somehow “disappeared”.1. We cannot directly link photos that appear in a gallery to a page on a site. As you have discovered, you can do so by creating an HTML link in either the image caption or the description. (See my post in the Ideas forum)
2. If you have chosen to always display your gallery in a tiled mosaic under Settings>Media or chosen one of the mosaic types in the Edit Gallery screen, then you will not see number of columns. The only gallery type that supports number of columns (or “size” for that matter) is the default thumbnail type of gallery.
