Why is my Mac freezing up when I load pictures?

I’m having a problem uploading photos. I am on a Mac and I’ve tried Firefox and Chrome (newest version). First photo loads fine. During the uploading of the second photo the computer freezes and a message pops up re: wordpress not responding. Then I cannot exit or close browser and I must reboot computer. This has happened consistently for the past four days and did not occur prior to that. I’ve also tried it on two different Macs with the same sad results. Any ideas for resolving this issue would be appreciated. thanx

Have yoy tried these troubleshooting images tips?

Thanks. That did the trick. I used to be able to just drag and drop from iPhoto with no resizing or optimizing. Guess those simple days are gone. Did both to a pic and it loaded in a snap. Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.
