Why is my menu bar appearing in the centre of blog banner?

I have switched to Bold News Theme from Coraline and in creating a new menu it is stuck in the middle of the banner.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The Bold News theme has two different menu locations — by default, the top navigation menu is reserved for your WordPress pages, whilst the one directly below is reserved for your blog post categories. (Both will appear below your site’s header image.)
Right now, you have the same custom menu set for both of those menu areas. You can head to Appearance > Menus in your site’s dashboard to create a new menu for either of those menu areas, if you’d like.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that! You can also contact the Bold News theme author directly for help with the theme in the Bold News support forum.

Thanks you have been very helpful. One last question. How to change my body text to black instead of the grey typeface I have not using CSS?

You’re welcome!
How to change my body text to black instead of the grey typeface I have not using CSS?
The Bold News theme doesn’t have a built-in way to change the body text color, so you’d need to use CSS to do that. (Any customization that isn’t built in to the theme would need to be done using CSS.) If you aren’t sure what CSS to use, the expert staff and volunteers in our CSS Customization forum can help you find what you need to make that change.
