Why is my mp4 video no loading correctly?
-
I have video press and uploaded an mp4 video in the image library. It shows 100% done, but when I add the link to my post, it does not show. There is a message that says: This video file could not be processed because it does not contain a video track or the video codec is unsupported.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
Did you you try uploading it from the Media–>Add Media button? Did you copy and paste the specific shortcode?
-
Thank you for the message back. I looked further and the filetype of my video is H.264. Is that the problem?
I did use the short code, but the video just shows as a black box with nothing there.
-
I do not think it is:
While VideoPress does not give that as a file format you can upload it goes on to say that once a file-type is upload it gets encoded into H.264
VideoPress converts your uploaded video file into MP4 and Ogg formats. Our MP4 files are encoded with H.264 video and AAC audio lossy compression codecs. Ogg files are encoded with Theora video and Vorbis audio lossy compression codecs. When you uploaded the file to VideoPress was it in an H.264 format or was it in an mp4 format?
I will also tag this thread for a staff follow-up.

When I uploaded it was H.264, but now that it is in my media library, it shows as mp4. It appears as though the video is in the post, but when you click on it, there is nothing there. Here is the link:

Hi Mike,
Please note that you will need the VideoPress upgrade to upload mp4 files.
If you don’t want to purchase the upgrade, I suggest uploading to Youtube or Vimeo and those embeds would be free:
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
-
We do have the upgraded package with Video Press. Is there a phone# I can call to have someone help me with this directly? Thank you.
-
Hi Mike,
I’m sorry, but we only provide support via email/forums. I’m looking at the account under the username: mkmiller4444. Do you have another account on WordPress.com?
Let me know and I can take a look. Also, are you trying to upload mp4 files to the site: mkmiller4444.wordpress.com?
Please note that that site does not have the VideoPress upgrade attached to it, so if the upgrade is in another account, I can transfer it over to this site with the proper verification.
Cheers!

Hi Traci,
This video file could not be processed because it does not contain a video track or the video codec is unsupported.
Please check the video file format. Can you try it one more time and let me know if you still get that error?
-
Hi Grace,
The same thing happens. It looks like the H.264 (from iPhone) file uploads to the media library and converts to MP4 format, but then there is an error and there is no content to the video. Thanks, Traci
