Why is my name not appearing correctly (as author) with my posts?

    My name does not appear correctly in posts. My profile and account information show my name as “Dr. Scott Yorkovich.” However whenever I post something, my name appears as “Scott Yorkovich.”

    How do I correct this?

    Hi there. I see you have your Google+ profile linked. If you link your G+ profile to your blog WordPress will disregard the display name you entered under Users ->My Profile and display the name attached to your Google profile instead, which I’m guessing doesn’t show titles.

    To have the WordPress.com display name appear you’ll have to unlink your G+ profile under Settings ->Sharing. Note that will also disconnect Google+ from Publicize if you have it added there, so you’ll need to reconnect Publicize to Google+ after unlinking your profile.

    Thank you! This is a very clear explanation. I will disconnect my Google+ profile to see what happens.

    Wouldn’t doing so re-introduce the problem I’ve experienced?

    No. You’ll see there are two G+ connections on the Settings ->Sharing page. The one under publicize auto-publishes posts to your personal G+ profile and/or pages, i.e. by connecting that you just authorise WordPress to post to Google+ on your behalf.

    The second one, under the Publicize options, links your blog to your G+ profile. It’s this second one that changes your author name.

    At least, that’s how it worked the last time I tried it.
