Why is my old email still associated with my wordpress account?

    Hi! My old email is still associated with my wordpress account. When I make a comment on a wordpress blog using my old email as a contact, it says that i have to log in because it is associated with a wordpress account. I have changed my mail on my account and it has been updated, but it still says that.
