Why is my post title not showing up?
-
I have made a new post, using the “link” format so I could include a link to a video. However, now my post title does NOT show up on the blog. I can see that the title is there when I am in Edit mode, but on the published blog it is not there. Why? and how do I fix it? thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Alternative post formats are supposed to change the appearance of a post on the main page, to highlight and differentiate different types of content. You don’t need to select the link format in order to post links (or the image format to post images, and so on): stick to Standard.

Thank you!!! I have switched it back to standard and my title is now showing. I used the link format originally as it wouldn’t let me insert a link without it. I can work around that by using the link format, publishing, then changing the format. Thanks again!

You’re welcome.
But you’re not right about links, and you don’t have to do all that. As I already pointed out, the purpose of the Link format is to change the appearance of the post, not to allow you to add links. The Link format is supported on only some themes: you think that the millions of bloggers who use the other themes cannot post links? To add a link, you type the word or phrase that will act as the link, highlight it, then click the link button and paste the URL in the popup.

Oh thanks!! that was very helpful! The link button was always greyed out and I could not figure out how to make it work. But yes, highlighting a word makes the button work and then I can put in a link. Awesome! Many thanks.
