Why is my reader not retreiving some posts from the blogs I follow?

I am noticing that my main reader page is not loading several of the blogs and/or individual posts from blogs that I follow. how do I fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Could you please give me a couple of specific examples, so I can check those blogs’ feeds out?

For example, A Practical Wedding (www.apractical wedding.com) is my favorite blog that I am following. When I travel to it’s specific feed page for my account (http://wordpress.com/read/blog/feed/4277659/) it displays the posts, but they do not crop up in my regular reader feed.
Alternate example: I have followed a blog of a friend, and their feed is not correctly being loaded into the reader: http://wordpress.com/read/blog/feed/17682145/
(http://reedhaus.blogspot.comhttp://reedhaus.blogspot.com).These two things are happing for multiple blogs I follow.

Hmm. I took a look in your Reader, and when I scrolled down to 9 hr ago, I did see the most recent Practical Wedding post.
For the Reedhaus blog, the last time that blog was updated was November 16th. I think it isn’t pulling those old posts in, but if it’s updated again, that feed should work.
Do you have a couple of more examples? I believe you that it’s happening, but I need to find one I can see, so I can report some details about it. :)

Let me be more specific, with APW example. You are right- that post appeared from “9 hours ago” down the feed. But “9 hours ago” it did not appear at the top of my reader feed. For today, right now, I can see their “Wedding Dress Shopping As A Stick Figure” post in my reader from 5 hours ago. But at the top of my feed, the more recent post “How To Order From A Printable Press” (as seen directly on their website http://apracticalwedding.com/) from 3 hours ago has not appeared. Yet, there are other posts from 33 min ago on my reader from other blogs. Perhaps in 8 hours, the most recent APW post will show up in my reader feed down the list, at “11 hours ago”.
This is resulting in me missing some posts as I assume that all posts are being fed in realtime. When some blog posts are updated more immediately and other do not appear in the reader for hours, it makes for unnnecessary sorting through what I have read and not read on my feed. I do not have the time to verify if this is happening with more than one blog, or is an inconsistency with all blogs, I just assume that I my reader is not capturing all blogs in the correct order/timing of post publication.

Hi Erica,
I note that you are mostly subscribed to non-WordPress.com blogs in your reader. Part of this has to do with when these blogs’ feeds are updated. I actually follow a lot of the same blogs that you do, in Feedly, and I often notice that my feeds for them update significantly after they’ve posted. The difference is, a feed reader like Feedly doesn’t then slot the posts in downstream — you can see which ones are unread, regardless of when they appear in your Reader.
If you find that certain blogs are getting buried, you might want to try also following them in an alternate reader. There are some more suggestions about this in this forum thread.

Thank you! I am also using an alternate reader. I will make it my primary, as opposed to the wordpress feeder.
