Why is my slide show in Debut theme not displaying on the page?

Slide show won’t display in Debut theme. I’m building a static site and want to add a slide show of images on the static Home page. I followed instructions in the Gallery support page, but the slideshow images do not display on my Home page. Also, how do I add the text rectangle in the slide show, as shown on examples of sites built in Debut?

The slides with text rectangles that you see on the Debut demo site is actually the theme’s special Hero Slider, rather than a regular gallery slideshow. Since you are using the Debut Home template on your home page, you’ll need to set up that hero slider to have it appear on your home page.
You can control how the Hero Slider is set up and what content is shown there by going to Appearance > Theme Options in your dashboard. In the Hero Slider section, you can choose what category of blog posts appear in the slider. Then, you can create blog posts, assign them to that category, and add a featured image that is at least 940×350 pixels in size. Those posts will appear in the hero slider on your home page.
