Why is my widgets are displaying all the way at the bottom of my blog?

    Hi,

    Why are my widgets not in the right place? On my blog they should be to the right of the post right under the header, but they are in a weird format and pushed to the very bottom, requiring a scroll down. I also notice my oldest most, “Getting Ready to Leave Portland” is not formatting correctly. I tried deleting it and re-posting it, but it still looks funny. I am not sure if the two problems are related.

    I tried clearing the cache. I also tried looking at it on other devices, but the blog still doesn’t look right. I also tried changing the theme and changing it back.

    I really want to fix this, so that I can share it and people can easily find the “Follow” widget. Your help is appreciated.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    When this happens, it’s usually because there’s a post with incorrectly written HTML structure. I’m still checking your posts to see which one causes the issue. In the meanwhile, see this help page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/layout-issues/#sidebar

    Found it. In your “Welcome to Santo Domingo” post, there is a stray < /div > tag after the first image:

    <p><img class="size-full wp-image-40" title="the beach" src="http://zachkris.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/p1000325.jpg?w=640" alt="Finding a slice of paradise."   /></p>
    </div>

    Edit that post and use the Text mode to find the div, then delete it.

    Hi,

    Thanks so much for everyone’s help. Hafizr, it works now. It seemed like maybe you had already made the delete for me. Thanks for teaching me a bit more about how it all works and getting me on my way to sharing the blog.

    Regards, Zach

    You’re welcome, Zach. I didn’t do anything to your site (would be crazy if I had access to your site!), but nevertheless I’m glad that it got solved and that you now know what to do when something like this happens again.
