why is my wordpress blog still searchable on google?

  When I search my name (yes, I google myself to see if my artwork has been posted on blogs and such) my old wordpress blog from years ago shows up. I made sure to delete it, and there is NO blog under my dashboard. Yet thanks to google, everyone can see every page of that old “deleted” blog still. How do I remove it permanently so it is not searchable?
