Why is my WP Dashboard not showing the Plugins anymore?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using WordPress version 2.9.1 so I cannot use Jetpack. I am decided to uninstall WordPress.com Stats but I can no longer open the plugins (https://xicowner.jefmart.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?page=wpstats).

Only the Jetpack banner that says “Future upgrades to WordPress.com Stats will only be available in Jetpack. Jetpack connects your blog to the WordPress.com cloud, enabling awesome features.” shows when I click Plugins in my dashboard.

Please help. It could cause trouble for me if I cannot access my Plugins dashboard.

    Thank you.

http://xicowner.jefmart.com is a self-hosted installation of WordPress, available at http://wordpress.org/

If you’re having problems with a site not hosted with WordPress.com, we may not be able to help. Because your site is self-hosted, I am unable to access your Dashboard to see first-hand the issue that you’re encountering.

However, to upgrade your version of WordPress.org, please follow the directions available here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Thank you very much for the reply. I had moved my query to WordPress.org forum.

Just want to add that I can no longer the version of my WordPess.org because my blog theme would no longer be compatible with the new one. At the moment I do not want to change my blog’s theme.

Site Stats on my Global Dashboard no longer works since the forced upgrade of WordPress.com Stats plugin to Jetpack for self-hosted WP blogs. Was this intentional or I am only the one encountering the situation? Did WordPress.com stop that service already?

Are you referring to the stats for your WordPress.com blog on your Global Dashboard? In general, WordPress.org stats will not appear in your WordPress.com Dashboard.

  • Unknown's avatar

No, I am not referring to the stats of my WordPress.com blog. It’s the stats of my WordPress.org blog which was showing on my WordPress.com Global Dashboard before. I was using it also fo r long, long while until it stops functioning last September 27, 2011.

I do not know if you can see it but it is on . . . https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats&blog=8051078 I can’t believe you do not know that WordPress.org stats also appear on WordPress.com Dashboard.

By the way, I have already resolved my first problem by asking my web administrator to manually remove the WordPress.com Site Stats plugin in my WordPress.org blog. There is also that plugin in case you do not know.

    Hi there,

I apologize, you’re correct. You can access your Jetpack stats via your WordPress.com Dashboard > Site Stats page, as you know.

When I visit the page you linked in your message, I’m able to see your stats for your self-hosted site. Can you walk me through what happens when you go to your Global Dashboard > Site Stats page? Do you receive any error messages or is there just no information available in the stats graph?

    Hi evarlese,

Thanks for bearing with me. I have no problem going to my Global Dashboard > Site Stats page. I do not receive any error message. There is no information available in the stats graph since August 28th. Actually, it stopped a day before (there was partial data on the 27th) when you had the prompt to update my WordPress.com Stats plugin to Jetpack.

I wish I could still use WordPress.com Site Stats in my WordPress.com Global Dashboard.

    Hi there,

I recommend that you try updating to the latest version of the WordPress.org software:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress

You can always update your theme, or find a compatible theme in the themes directory:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

Once you upgrade WordPress, you’ll be able to use the Jetpack plugin, which has more advanced stats functionality than the older WP Stats plugin.

Oh, sorry. I forgot to tell you that I cannot and I don’t plan to upgrade my WordPress.org software version. My Mimbo 3.0 theme is not compatible with any version after 2.9.1 but I do not want to change it.

Anyway, thanks for all your replies. I am just curious why WordPress.com Stats stops working even on my WordPress.com Global Dashboard. If it is really not working anymore on everybody’s dashboard, I suggest that you remove it from the dropdown.
