Why is new blog more $ than my other one?

I am starting a new blog and to launch it will cost me $60 annually. However, my current WordPress already has 4 blogs including one with a mapped domain and I have only been paying $13.00 a year. Is there no way I can include the new blog with the others I’m already paying for?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You don’t need to buy a paid plan to launch your site – you can launch it on the free plan. A paid plan is only required if, for example, you want to use your own domain.

including one with a mapped domain and I have only been paying $13.00 a year. Is there no way I can include the new blog with the others I’m already paying for?

The domain mapping upgrade (now called Domain Connection) is a legacy upgrade that we no longer sell as a stand-alone upgrade. Accounts like yours that already own one can continue using it as long as you continue renewing it, but otherwise that upgrade is only available via a paid plan.

Because you own a legacy upgrade, you might still be able to add it to other sites you own as well – go to Upgrades ->Domains, and search for your domain. Select the option to use a domain you already own, and select domain connection.

If your account is still eligible to add that upgrade, you’ll see the option for it there. But if it shows you need to upgrade to a paid plan, it means your account is no longer eligible to add this legacy upgrade, and in that case you’ll need to upgrade to our Starter plan to use it.
