Why is no longer possible to align the caption for the pictures?

  Hello everybody, since the icon for uploading images has been changed is no longer possible to align in the center the caption for the pictures clicking on the button on the web editor. I’ve also tried using html codes but it messed up the text of the article.

  Is it something Wp is working on? Or did I miss something? The caption aligned at the left are really poor graphycally…

  It is still possible…

  I’m not quite sure what you are pointing out. If you want the alignment to be in the center, click on the photo while you are editing the post which the photo is on, then click the center button.

  Nothing changed, I recon…

  @tennisfilmproduction: That’s for aligning the image, not the caption.

  @Francesco: The styling of the captions is defined in the CSS of the theme, it varies from theme to theme, and you cannot change it directly. You can change it once for all if you have the Custom Design upgrade, or you can use complicated coding in the HTML editor – see here:

  You’re welcome. The coding in my second post is designed specifically for 2011: for Vigilance you’ll need different properties and values. Are you familiar with inline CSS?

  @romainjazz: How exactly would you like the captions to look like? Just centered, or with other changes as well? (default color or not? italics or not? etc.)

  Then you can use the codes I’m suggesting, but instead of all this:
  <p style="text-align:center;color:#666;font-family:Georgia;font-size:12px;margin:10px 5px 4px;">

  use just this:
  <p style="text-align:center;">

  In my opinion, however, my workaround is a very tiresome thing to do if you use captioned images a lot. You should consider switching to a different theme instead (one in which image captions are centered by default).

  I’ll use this code because I did not found yet a theme that fits my blog like the current one, thank you very much!
