Why is part of a blog post missing?
-
I found part of an old post on my blog missing upon display. However when I edit the post I will find the full text, and then it will display upon updating the post, but will not stay permanently displayed? Why is this and how can it be fixed so the whole post is viewable?

@ballista74
We need you to post an active link starting with http:// to the exact post or page you are referring to please. -

It’s a 1263 word post in total. When I’m not logged in (or others as the comments indicate) and view this post, you can only see the first 200 words. The rest goes missing. As I mentioned before, when I edit the post I can find the full text and push to update and get the full text, but if I log off and clear the cache, cookies, and all that, I only see the first 200 words again.

When I look at your source code I see that your links are not properly written at about the place where a not-logged-in user can no longer see the rest of your post. (do a search for “aims to teach about courtship is”)
<A HREF= and so on>link text here </A>
Those tags should all be in lowercase, not capital letters.Are you copy/pasting from somewhere?

okay, if that is what the issue is, then it will fix it, thanks.
Actually, a number of my previous posts were written on word processor and then uploaded into the editor. The word processor capitalizes hyperlink references. I didn’t think it mattered here, but I guess not.

Well I cannot explain why a logged in reader can see your complete post, while those not logged into WordPress.com see a truncated portion but proper coding does not use capital letters on tags. I didn’t look at any of your other posts to see if they also have the partial posts for not-logged-in-readers.
If you must use a word processor, then use the option to “paste as plain text” or “paste from Word” in the visual editor.
There are off-line editors which work in ways similar to word processors but don’t add junk code which will cause problems…
Take a look at WindowsLiveWriter for example. It is free. -
hmm
I can now see the complete post as logged out as well. And I cannot explain that either.But if you want folks to be able to read your blog, why take chances with poor/bad coding introduced by word processors which are not designed to speak the language of the internet?

I can explain that. I went and made the suggested edit of the tags pretty swiftly in that period between 3:55 and 3:59.
