Why is plugin upload box grayed out

    I just uploaded to the Creator plan so that I can use plugins. I clicked the Upload button because the plugin that I want to use is in a zip file on my hard drive. The next screen tells me that my site URL will be changed to a staging site (which I understand). I click Continue.

    On the next screen, there is still a bar that says ‘Install Plugin’ at the top. Then there is a drop zone that is faded out. I can barely see the words that say ‘Drop files or click here to install.’ When I try to drop my zip file over the grayed out box, nothing happens.

    Why can’t I upload my plugin zip file?

    If anyone else is having this problem: the solution is to install any plugin from the search box. Find a free, lightweight one. Install it and let WordPress convert your site to the staging site. When you return, you’ll see all the default plugins and you will be able to upload the one you want.

    Admins may close – my problem is fixed.
