Why is so much spam not being filtered by Akismet?

  I received 73 spam comments that were not caught so I had to go through and label them all as spam. This has happened several times but never this many. Why is Akismet letting so many spam comments getting through?

  I’m sorry about this. This can happen, but please note that Akismet is a learning engine. The spam trends and tactics change constantly.

  Please continue to mark these comments as spam, and don’t delete them as Akismet will learn and adapt.
