Why is the HTTPS Crossed Out?
-
When trying to change my header pic it won’t allow me to delete the pic and upload another one. I can’t access any other posts or pages from the customization page. The link below shows the HTTPS in red with a red slash through it. In fact, after going to the customization page all liks show the same.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Jerry

Hi there,
If you’re having difficulties with the Customizer, you can modify your header image here:
https://kyeos.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header -
I appreciate that jackiedana. When I go to Appearence > Customization, I don’t get the page you shwed in the link you forwarded to me. Nor does that address the rest of the issues above. Also all the links on the cusomization page is dead once I get there.

It looks like your header image is now working. You can access the page I linked by going to Appearance > Header.
As for the HTTPS issue, you might try logging out and logging back in to see if that clears things up. Also see the following document for more information on how to enable HTTPS:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/ -
The HTTPS is checked and has been. I’ve done the logging in and logging out thing, cleared cookies and cach, rebooted, shut down completely went fishing and bought groceries. Nothing has changed a thing.

I’m not sure why you continue to have problems with the HTTPS. Which browser are you using, and is it the most recent version?
Can you send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing when it fails to work properly? Instructions on how to do this can be found here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ . You can upload the image to your blog’s media library so I can view it without having to post it here.
Thanks.

I am using the updated version of Google Chrome, which I have used since starting my blog.
-
Yes, there are LOTS of reported problems with the latest version of Chrome. Try dropping back to an earlier one or using a different browser.

@raincoaster, thanks. :)
@phoport, I’d recommend following her advice, as from what I have been able to find, this appears to almost always be a browser issue.
Let me know how it goes.

It is the same version I started my blog with over 9 months ago. The issue just started a few weeks ago. So the issue can’t be on my end. If my browser worked then , it should still work now. Why is it, every time there is an issue it is on our end?

If my browser worked then , it should still work now.
The assumption that anything including browser versions are frozen in time in cyberspace is erroneous. Browsers and software are continually updated and most of us set our browsers up so the updating is automatic. For example, my browser version has been automatically updated at least twice in the last 9 months.
Why is it, every time there is an issue it is on our end?
That would be because there are over 38 million of us blogging here and the vast and overwhelming majority do not have these issues.
The reason we suggest eliminating browser related issues first by troubleshooting is because history is a great teacher. Historically, the overwhelming majority of cases like this one the issue is caused by either browser related issues or connectivity issues.
If you would like to undertake some troubleshooting, so Staff have something to work with please try what follows and report back step by step what you experience.
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache: http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/ or disabling it and see if that makes a difference.
5. Try another browser http://browsehappy.com
Let us know which exactly browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

If those do not work then Staff can assist you with advanced browser troubleshooting. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/
