Why is the "new post" button the lame abbreviated form?

When I want to write a new post, I have to use a convoluted path to enter a new post. The new post buttons all lead to a lame abbreviated form.

Think of that more like a quick posting interface for simple posts. The full posting interface is still available via Posts -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard.
