Why is the number of followers different in my site stats than on my blog page?

  The Follow widget on my blog says:

  Follow Blog via Email

  Click to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.

  Join 1,053 other followers

  Yet when I go into my site stats I only see 130 followers. Is it not possible to know who the other 923 are?

  Hi Jenn,

  Please note that the Follow Blog widget also includes followers from Publicize connections like Facebook and Twitter, so it will most likely be higher on your page than your site stats. Site stats do not include those followers.
