Why is the number of subscribers to my blog stuck on a certain number?

  Every time I receive an email telling me that someone has subscribed to my blog, the number does not increase. It has been stuck on “37 subscribers” for the past 5 or 10 subscribers for some reason.
  When I go to Site Stats to check the subscribers’ email addresses, it appears as 37 and actually removed some email subscribers from the list…
