Why is the offensive banner still there?

“WordPress.com has joined other companies such as Tumblr, Twitter, Google, and Facebook in showing our support for marriage equality.

However, as this is a polarized issue and the community support forums are not the place to hold such discussions we are closing threads related to the mastbar. “

Since it is a polarized issue, the banner shouldn’t even be there!!
Since the rainbow banner is on display where we can see it, we should have a right to be able to opt-out!
You can’t just put up a display and expect everyone to like it, and when people speak up you slap them with ” Threads are being closed as the public WordPress.com forum is not the place for these discussions”

How long is this temporary excuse going to be used?

To timethief, this is not a fix https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/heres-how-to-remove-the-rainbow-banner-from-the-top-of-your-reader?replies=2
and your responses to others that are offended by the rainbow banner are not cool either.

As mentioned in other threads, the banner is temporary. It will eventually be removed.

Threads are being closed as as the public WordPress.com forum is not the place for these discussions.
