Why is the word dot used in the url?
-
My new blog is listed as, thecolorofhistorydotblogdotcom.
When I applied for the blog I asked for, http://www.thecolorofhistory.blog.com. This is what I thought it would be listed as. Why is the word dot used instead of using periods?
Can I change this?

You can have this blog on wordpress.com:
from:
http://en.wordpress.com/typo/?subdomain=thecolorofhistorythecolorofhistory.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
Do you want to register thecolorofhistory.wordpress.com?Or, if you don’t like the “.wordpress.com” ending on the url, look into domain mapping:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/Please note that there are various flavors of wordpress with significant differences, and if wp.com is not for you then take a look at wp.ORG:
