Why is theme not displaying on my site like it displays in its sample box?
-
I keep trying themes that say they have full-width headers but none of them actually make the headers full-width when I upload them, no matter what size I make my header image. My pages look absolutely nothing like the sample ones on the themes page. Frustrating.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are many themes now which are customizable and that means they don’t look like the previews. Sadly, the designers have not included the instructions for making your blog look like the previews right out of the box., My best advice, if you want to keep this simple, is to choose an older theme that is not configurable. That rules out the one you’re currently using. Also realize that “full width” doesn’t mean full screen; it means the full width of the main content column plus sidebars.

Thanks for your reply!! Do you know if it’s possible to customize beyond the small appearance options they give you without paying to upgrade? I seem to remember being able to edit way beyond what I have access to right now a few years ago.

No, it is not. It never ever has been. Some themes are more customizable than others and let you add background images and so on out of the box, but it’s a tradeoff; the more customizable it is, the more work you have to do to make it look like the preview.

If you need more details, you need to tell us which themes you’re interested in. Have you studied the theme instructions in the Theme Showcase site?
Also, the blog linked to your username has no posts yet, so how could it ever look like the theme thumbnails or demos? -
