Why is there a security warning upon accessing my site?
-
One of my blog’s readers informed me that his security software warned him about accessing my blog. It was a strong warning. He received a notification of my latest post by email. Also, when I was updating my blog today I received a warning that my site may not actually be my site, but actually something impersonating my site. How do I fix that problem?

Hi there!
This generally happens when you try to view your site through a secure socket layer (https). So, for example, if you visit https://upsidedownbethlehem.com, you will receive an error like this:
Basically, the browser is looking for a certificate from upsidedownbethlehem.com. However, the certificate is actually appearing from WordPress.com causing a red flag in the browser.
Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to issue a security certificate for upsidedownbethlehem.com. However, all links on WordPress.com are designed to avoid users receiving this error. When inserting links into your posts, you will want to use the http prefix.
With regards to that user, they may have their browser set-up to default to https links whenever possible. In that case, you could have them insert an exception for upsidedownbethlehem.com or to change their browser settings.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
