Why is there an additional login page for people wishing to view my new site?
-
Hi!
I just purchased a new domain last week, and mapped my free wordpress.com blog to it. I purchased the domain at the same time as the $99 upgrade. The site is no longer visible (http://alyxandria.shepard.com) and has a strange login page. In the admin area, the domain has a message in red that says “DNS needs updating” and I suspect that is where the problem is coming from… what do I do and why did this happen?
Thank you so much for your assistance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Alyxandria!
Currently, it looks like you set-up domain mapping for alyxandria.shepard.com with your Premium bundle. Please note, domain mapping does not register a domain. It’s only used if you own a domain elsewhere (registered it at another registrar) and want to map it to your WordPress.com blog. Just a note, alyxandria.shepard.com is actually a subdomain of the domain shepard.com. So, in order for this to work, you would need to have already registered shepard.com elsewhere. If that’s the case, let me know, and I can provide further instructions for the correction!
If you do not own shepard.com, I’m afraid you will not be able to use alyxandria.shepard.com. However, I can help you register alyxandriashepard.com instead. Would that work?
