Why is there low photographic quality in Galleries?
-
The last couple times I had made a photo gallery on my blog, the quality of the photographs displayed in the gallery appeared a lot worse than other photos just posted (outside of the gallery). I like how galleries look but I don’t want my photos to appear pixely to viewers. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Each theme has an optimal resolution for photos.
What theme are you using and at what resolution are you uploading your images.
Galleries in particular were designed to be viewed at multiple screen sizes, so it is doubly important that your images be optimized before uploading.

thank you for your response!
I’m using the Nishita theme. The thing is that when I first started making galleries my photos looked absolutely fine. It’s only been the last two times where they have gone down in quality. I haven’t changed anything about my uploading of pictures.

For what it’s worth, I’ve noticed a similar issue recently. Despite being optimised for the theme and media size chosen, I’ve had some pictures come up slightly unsharp when viewed in a post, looking exactly like they have been poorly resized (even though there is no need).
Anyway, may not be related, but it’s another data point in case a Happiness Engineer stops by.
