    Hey there!

It appears as if perhaps you copied and pasted your text from another document. Is that the case? If so, I recommend deleting the text from the Visual tab in your post editor. Then, re-paste it into the HTML tab. To add images and formatting, return to your Visual tab. Then, save your post.

When you copy/paste you’re pulling some of the formatting from the original document. Formatting in word processing isn’t always read cleanly in HTML. Your best solution is the one I mentioned above. You might also find this document helpful:

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Hi Robyn… thank you. I didn’t originally copy and paste the copy, it was just another attempt to try and get some paragraph spacing. Tried many times. So don’t know what the original problem was. I did add that link to my FB page, which I haven’t done before… and wondered if that affected it? So do I still follow your above instructions?
thanks again, can you suggest anything else. This hasn’t happened before, that I remember anyway….xx

I’ll save my edited (this morning) copy again, in word. So if I try again with a new post and paste copy text, how should I do it. It has me stumped, it just won’t work…..

and is HTML tab the text tab?

if you can go back to my original post… before all the edits… you will see that that copy was not pasted, everything was as I normally do it, except for the link to the FB page. But nothing I have done will give me spacing between the paragraphs. Saved copy ’cause don’t want to lose it. What next….. ??
    thanks xx

    Hey Marilyn!

and is HTML tab the text tab?

Yes! Sorry about the wording: it’s called the HTML tab in the newer Dashboard, but is called the Text tab in the classic version of our editor. It sounds like you’re using the classic version!

Format everything as you want in Word, line-spacing-wise, then paste it into your Text tab. Then, do any extra formatting in the Visual tab.

It appears as if somewhere along the line, during your editing, the HTML code got a little goofy. Sometimes this happens…it’s not too big of a deal, if you’re able to start fresh by adding your content into the HTML/Text tab as I mentioned above.

Give that a try and let me know how it works.

If you need help with the Facebook link, I can assist! Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
