Why is there now no preview (summary) when promoting a post on twitter?

  I am wondering why, when promoting a blog post by sending a tweet on twitter including the link (either shortlink or long) to the article/post, a ‘drop-down’ preview of the article (twitter calls it a ‘summary’) is no longer displayed, as it always used to be. This has been a problem for over a year. During that time, a preview of the piece has appeared connected to my tweet, randomly – on about two occasions only, although I have done nothing different on these occasions. It is infuriating as it makes a lot of difference to the no of people visiting the post from twitter.
