Why is this January 22 post no longer visible on my site?
-
I cannot find a post I published on January 22, 2013 and did not remove it myself.
Was it removed by WordPress? If so, I would like it to be put back or an explanation of what words, if any, were offensive. The post’s link is/wasThank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It was there for a week or more because I successfully linked to it in early February. The link address is still there where I had put it.

Thank you, 1tess. I have some questions for you if you or another moderator will be kind enough to answer.
1. Is it possible for WordPress to find it for me? I don’t think I kept a copy. I can rewrite it.
2. Are there any key words in the title that a “bot” would reject it for?
3. Some forum posters have mentioned that they have had similar problems related to censorship. One even said that a notice came up on his site that he should communicate with WordPress because of questionable content. This statement implies that there are occasions when content is deemed to be a problem. No such notice appeared on mine.
4. What about political pressure? How does WordPress respond to that? -
Hi, while I’m a moderator I am not staff: just a fellow blogger like you.
I’ll modlook this thread for staff attention. If you subscribe then you will be notified when there is a response.1. You might try Google to see if it was indexed, then you could view the cached version and copy it to repost it.
2. I don’t believe there are any keywords that would cause just one post to disappear.
3. WordPress.com sites may be suspended for violation of Terms of Service.
4. WordPress.com maintains freedom of speech. We strongly believe in freedom of speech. WordPress.com enables anyone to freely express their ideas and opinions, without censoring or endorsing them.

There have been issues of posts disappearing but they were related to posts just published, mostly from http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ and nothing to do with politics.

What does subscribing to modlook mean? Or simply “subscribe?”
Thanks for your help thus far. I look forward to reading a response from staff. Not sure what I need to do next, if anything.
I really like WordPress hosting my blog. Generally there are no problems. This was an important (to me, anyway) post and timely piece and I’m unhappy if it was off for two months! -
You can subscribe from the sidebar on the top right:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?doit=bb-subscribe&topic_id=259321&and=add&_wpnonce=0409ec1de5You could re-write (or copy from Google cache, if it was indexed) the post. Also just be patient: staff does take care of modlooks we volunteers cannot help with.
I suspect it was a technical bug or something like that. You might add an archives widget to your sidebar to make it easier to see if other posts are also missing. With the infinite scroll enabled it’s difficult to look at just one month at a time to see which posts are there. (of course you could also look at your list of all posts in your dashboard.)

Oh, in the right sidebar I placed a modlook tag so staff will see this thread—mostly we volunteers answer questions but staff checks modlooks for issues we cannot help with.
Subscribe is just so you’ll get an email when someone responds here.

By the way, you can tell if the person answering a post here is staff because their info is in a light grey box. It will say under their name something like “staff” “happiness engineer” “theme wrangler” and so on.

I’ll check out google cache later. There are several outspoken First Nations speakers and there has been a clear history of harassment of one or more of these speakers by people connected to or employed by the Canadian government. I had four YouTube links to one of these speakers in that post (four parts of her talk). She is an eloquent lawyer. I can repost the links and add my “sauce.” The harassment history is what makes me suspicious of something sinister here.
Look forward to WP’s staff response. You personally have helped me as much as you can. I appreciate it. Thanks very much, 1tess.

Some forum posters have mentioned that they have had similar problems related to censorship. We do not censor blogs, we’re strong supporters of freedom of speech and do not bend to external pressures unless it is legally required (at which point we always fight it first). http://en.wordpress.com/freedom-of-speech/
The notice you’re referring to means that the blogger was very close to violating our terms of service, and we wanted to make sure they were aware of it before they were suspended.
As for the post in question, something very odd happened to it. Apparently, it is now the draft titled “Where Now?” I know, wrong title, and definitely wrong content, but if you head down to the revisions below, you’ll see your old content and can restore from there: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/#restoring-revisions
Did you write this post in one of our mobile apps?

Another Idea I might suggest is contact people who read that post and ask them if they still have a link to that particular post. Unfortunately, I will not be adding any more posts to this forum.

Sorry, I had to go out. I found the file on google cache and re- posted it. 1tess was very, very helpful. It appears to be resolved, but I’ll look into what you’ve said about “Where Now.” Thanks for helping as well.
