why is this? "WordPress.com Credits"

  i went to buy a new theme and it added 29£ additional to the fixed price saying “WordPress.com Credits (less info)
  Your current WordPress.com Credit balance will be applied toward this purchase.”

  what tha hell?

  I have had this issue too – I am trying to buy a domain name for http://stnicholaspoplar.wordpress.com and have this added to the bottom of the check out.
  WordPress.com Credits £20.87

  Can this be removed?
