why is upgrade more expensive

  Hi there,

  I have had several wordpress sites and have always been charged $18/ year for a domain. Now I am trying to upgrade my current blog so that it doesn’t include wordpress.com and it wants to bill me around $70 for the basic option. Does the earlier feature still exist? Thanks a lot

  Hi there,

  Since a few months ago we no longer sell domains as separate upgrades, but only as part of a plan. Once you have a plan you can add as many additional domains to the site as you want, and sites that already have domain upgrades can keep renewing those upgrades, but new purchases require a plan first.
