Why is visibility reverting to 'private' when I set it to public?

  There seems to be a glitch – I’ve been updating my the site jerry-coleby-williams.net changed the theme and all is good except that now colour customisations don’t hold, changes to posts (inserting images) don’t stay that way and most frustrating of all I can’t change the blog back to public without it reverting to private within a minute or two…

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  yep It’s just happened again – I can tell even when I’m logged in because the colour customisation reverts to a previous choice.

  Sometimes the ‘allow search engines to index this site’ won’t save at all, sometimes it does. When it does it seems to hold for between q minute and about five minutes then seems to revert to an old autosave…

  Please let me know what’s going on – is WordPress.com having a problem?

  Hi there,

  Sorry for the trouble you had with these changes. It sounds like we may have had a hiccup in our system. I just checked your site at http://jerry-coleby-williams.net/ and I see that it’s public. Are you still having trouble with the other changes you mentioned (inserting images and color customizations)?

  If so, can you please try clearing your browser’s cache first? If you continue to have trouble making changes, please let me know the exact steps you’re taking and I’d be happy to investigate that further.

  All seems to working as expected now! Very happy again.

  I’d cleared caches and changed computers but nothing seemed to stick.
  Then it suddenly appeared and so did some, but not all, of the changes I’d made to individual pages.

  I’ve been happily making changes ever since – although haven’t dared take the site private again. *wry grin*

  Thanks for doing whatever mystical thing you did.

  I wish I could take credit for doing some amazing, mystical thing, but sadly I cannot. The glitch you encountered was either fixed by one of our fabulous developers or just ironed itself out on its own while no one was looking. We may never know. :)
