Why is wordpress forcing me to buy a plan?

  I’m told that I can do this for free, under a WordPress subdomain, and it will have ads. Also, my options are limited. I don’t mind ads or that my options are limited. So, why when I click to launch the site, does it not let me choose this so called free plan?

  Make sure you don’t have anything added to your cart. If you do, it will ask you to checkout before finishing.
