Why is wordpress.com so hard to use

2 months ago I paid £85 for a year subscription to wordpress.com. At the time I thought there was only 1 kind of WordPress. I’m not sure why there was no instructions as to the different types of WordPress. Anyway I tried to use it with zero experience and after hours of research I learnt I needed plugins. Thats when I found out that WordPress.com don’t use plugins. I then paid to go with hosted WordPress with GoDaddy and after 3 weeks I had created my 1st website https://eastleighcomputerrepairs.co.uk/ As I have paid for WordPress for a year I would like to learn how to use it but I have no idea and need help. Can someone explain what are the benefits of WordPress.com over hosted WordPress? Is it worth all the effort to learn?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you. I am sure this will be helpful when I get the time to read it. I was kinda hoping for some short answers in the meantime though if possible?

Oh and don’t forget there is also hosted WordPress managed hosted WordPress and hosted WordPress on a dedicated server separate to everyone else. Have I missed any other forms of WordPress?

I have an identical problem. To make things even more uncanny it looks like I am working from about 100 yards away from OP in Eastleigh. Any advice would be appreciated. Nice website btw OP, you are further than I am that’s for sure.
