Why is WP denying my access to my dashboard?
-
I am a business premium blogger and I can’t access my dashboard. I get a message that I am not authorized for the dashboard I want. I need some help from the Stellar WordPress Support Team, please!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I do not know why my user name is karenjulius520436689. I have no idea where that number came from.

Hi there,
Please know that we Volunteers don’t discriminate. We provide the same excellent level of service to all bloggers posting to this peer support forum where we work cooperatively with Staff.Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account and purchased upgrades for it.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
http://karenjulius.com/wp-admin/ is the login link.Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If required please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

I do not know why my user name is karenjulius520436689
Please try logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/ and then log in under the exact same username account that registered the blog you refer to.
What is the underlying .wordpress.com blog URL please?
Exactly which username account registered it and purchased the upgrade for it please? -
Hi Karen,
The username karenjulius520436689 (the one you were logged in with when you submitted this support request) isn’t linked to the blog at karenjulius.com. You’ll need to log in with the username that owns that blog in order to access the blog’s dashboard.
If you have any trouble with that, you can visit this link:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Click the “Need More Help?” link next to the button, and fill out the form. Our account recovery team will get back to you by email so you can discuss the options in private.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Rachelmcr, thank you for responding. Changing passwords does not solve the problem. I can log into WordPress, but when I click to my dashboard, this is what I get: Access denied
-
Please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

Hi Karen, you’re getting that message because you are currently logged in to WordPress.com with the username karenjulius520436689. That username isn’t linked to the blog you’re trying to access.
You will need to log out of WordPress.com and log in with the username or email address that is linked to the blog. If you don’t remember what username or email address to use, please visit this link:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
You don’t need to use the password reset form — you can click the “Need More Help?” link on that page, and fill out the form there. As timethief mentioned, our account recovery staff can then help you privately so you can regain access to the account that owns this blog.

My issue is not resolved. I’m very disappointed with WordPress support. I have a premium account and because I can’t access my dashboard, I can’t get help. I am very angry with the whole system.

I hope someone there is reading the email just redacted.

You don’t need to use the password reset form — you can click the “Need More Help?” link on that page, and fill out the form there. The account recovery link is not on that page at this time. We Volunteers do not refer people to it because it’s not there.

@karenjulius
I provided the correct answer to resolve your issue the very first time I posted above. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
http://karenjulius.com/wp-admin/ is the login link.rachelmcr is Staff and she verified this:

Timethief, I don’t mean to be a problem for you or Rachel, but I have tried everything over the course of this week multiple times. If I could get into my dashboard, I could use Live Chat. I pay for the privilege. I’m not getting what I need and my business is suffering.
-
Hooray! You have logged in under the correct username account.

I see nothing but the same screen as before. And, this is nothing I haven’t done previously. I have tried everything.

I can’t access my dashboard, I can’t get help.
@karen – Since you have a Business account, you can contact support@wordpress.com directly by email, but it must be done from the email address associated with your WPcom account. -
@justjennifer
Thanks for chiming in to help Karen. The phones at our business are busy today. -
