Why isn't a photo from by post showing up in the reader?

In the past the reader used to show a photo from my post, but it doesn’t any more. Is it the theme I’ve chosen?

Hi! Yes it is. I’ve noticed some other bloggers in my reader also don’t have photos either now.

Thank you so much for helping me with this. It is actually, I believe, the last three posts that don’t show an image in the reader. The latest one I published this morning is http://wp.me/p3Q9J4-8D
I’m thinking I have it on some setting. This morning I went to Appearance and then to MOBILE. I had “show featured images on front page and archive pages” set to “No.” Maybe that was the problem. I guess I won’t know until I publish another post. In the meantime, if you discover something else, I am SO happy to have your assistance.

Currently, when a post with the Standard, Aside, Link, Quote, or Status post format contains a video or audio embed or slideshow, that embed is pulled out and used in the Reader. Otherwise, it uses an image from the post.
If the post has the Gallery or Image post format, a video or audio embed in that post would not be used in the Reader – one or more images would be used instead.
The way our RSS feeds work is that it pulls and displays the first image it finds inside the post content. When the Reader looks for an image, it goes for the featured image first and then an image inserted into the post — if there are no images that meet the size criteria mentioned above, it will display the image as a thumbnail instead of a large image.

What if it’s just a regular old photo that I inserted into the post that doesn’t show up in the reader? It’s not a video or a gallery. Would that mean the photo is too large? But the reader doesn’t even make the image a thumbnail.
