Your latest post(s) will always show up on your blog front (unless you set it to display a static page instead).

A static page such as those you have created is like a post – like one post: you can’t put posts on pages.

To sort your posts into various groups, you need to file them under appropriate categories (post editor > Category module > add new category or tick existing one).

In a conventional blog deign the front page of the blog is where all the action is. It’s where the fresh content is displayed in reverse chronological order with the most recent post on top.

We can choose to create as many static pages for content that rarely id every changes. But we can only update those static pages by editing and we cannot assign categories and tags to them.

The front page doesn’t have to be the running page for posts. We can make another page the page running page for all the posts, but we can only have one running page that displays posts that automatically updates immediately after we publish (discounting the Archives, Categories & Tags pages).

Posts and pages are different from each other. Posts (or articles you write) are what your blog is: a collection of things your write about from day to day (or however often you post), while pages are information that does not change. Basic stuff your readers should know about, like an about page.

Posts have dates when they were written, and they can be tagged or categorized. Pages don’t have that option. Tags and categories are what help new readers find your blog. (do a search about global tags)

Catetories also help you to organize your blog. If you write about various topics, each topic can have a category. If a reader is interested in only one category, then assigning posts to appropriate categories is very very helpful.

Here is the support documentation about the difference between pages and posts:

You might also want to search the support docs to learn more about categories.
