Why isn't link to free Google apps account (for email) working?
-
The link to Google apps for a free email account goes to the Google apps for business page. How can I get to the appropriate site to establish a free Google apps account so that I can activate email?

You can setup your email with Google Apps for Domains following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/add-email/

I did follow the guide and that is where I ran into the difficulty stated. The link in the guide that is supposed to go to the free Google apps goes instead to Google Business apps. After verifying this again after receiving your response, I went to Google apps not through the WP link but directly via internet. I set up an account but did not verify, according to WP guide. I went back to the WP guide page as directed to complete the process. Can you verify that the WP and Google Apps accounts linked properly? I received an email from Google Apps saying that my account had not been completely set up because it was not verified.
Thank you!

The page you’re being sent to is actually the new way that Google Apps does things.
You get a free trial for Google Apps for Business and then either pay to upgrade or downgrade to the free service when it’s over.

Looking at your DNS records, everything is correct, and the domain should be verified. If you’re still having trouble, I recommend contacting Google.
The business account, which have a 30-day free trial for, comes with 24/7 support, so it’s definitely time to make use of that. :)

Yeah, no kidding on the 24/7 hand-holding. I know I’ve been keeping you busy. I will take a closer look at Google Apps for Business.
Many thanks!
