Why isn't my audio working correctly?

  I’m having trouble getting my embedded audio files to play. At least in Safari, when I press play, the end time displays NaN:NaN, and it won’t play. If I pause it and wait a little while, it will usually play then. I’ve tried everything I’ve found to try, including clearing the cache and a couple of other things. It’s been doing this ever since I switched to your hosting from Soundcloud. What’s going on?

  Hi!

  This issue is occurring due to some restrictions Safari has on the type of audio file served up. One workaround is to try to switch a handful of the files to mp3 instead of m4a to see if that helps.

  Another option is to add preload=meta to the shortcode like this:

  [audio m4a="https://trinityleesville.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/advent-2b.m4a" preload=meta][/audio]

  Can you give either of those methods a try and see if they help?

  Thanks for the help. Switching to mp3 didn’t really do anything. Though I’ll probably start doing that anyway because the file format works better across the board. However, your other suggestion seems to have helped quite a lot. Thank you!
