Why isn't my blog shown in the Daily Post Comments

    I have pingbacks enabled and linked to the daily post but do not see my blog listed in the comments section of the daily post. What am i doing wrong?

    Hi Teri,

    That depends on what the owner of the site does with your pingback. They could still be waiting to approve your pingback, and may have deleted it. Pingbacks are treated like regular comments, so if the site owner has enabled comment moderation, pingbacks won’t appear immediately on the site, and it’s at their discretion whether they appear at all.

    I did know that but I was trying to get it to show up in the Daily Post. Why would Daily Post delete it?

    I thought if I used the daily prompt on my blog my website would be listed under comments if I included a pingback. I included a pingback but I did not get listed so I am thinking I did something wrong.

    Hi Teri,

    No, you did everything correctly on your end. Your settings are set to try and notify other blogs when you link to them, and you included a link to the post in question. Their blog is clearly set to accept pingbacks, because they are listing 142 of them.

    I don’t know why they might have deleted your pingback and/or not yet approved it, but that’s completely up to them.

    You’re doing things right on your end though, so just keep doing what you’re doing :)

    Aren’t you from the Daily Post? I did not see anywhere that my post needed to be approved. Who would I speak to to find out why my post didn’t show up?

    Please clarify for me. I thought if i used the prompt and added a link to the daily post that my post would be listed in the comments.

    Let me know what the other parameters are so I can work harder to get listed!

    Teri,

    No, I am from the support staff at WordPress.com. To speak the owners of the Daily Post, you would have to try and get in touch with them through their site: I do not immediately see a contact form, but perhaps you could try their Twitter account?

    Pingbacks are like a special version of comments, so if the blog owner uses comment moderation (comments have to be approved before they appear on the site), then pingbacks will not appear until the owner approves them. There can be other issues, like accidental deletion and/or getting incorrectly marked as spam that can occasionally cause issues.

    You’re doing everything that you need to, but if this continues to be a problem, let me know and we’ll take a closer look
