Why isn't my custom domain resolving
-
@ thesacredpath: The only entries “I” made to my DNS records were the name server changes in the WordPress guidance for mapping my blog URL to my custom domain.
When I purchased this domain the domain host (Hover) automatically adds two A records, a CNAME and an MX record…these still point to Hover. I’ve searched the WordPress for anything regarding changing these records, but all I see is what to use for the name servers.
This could be the problem, but if it is, where on WordPress is the configuration data for these records? It’s not in “Map an existing domain”.

@thesacredpath: yes, retiredgeek.net is listed as primary in Store|Domains. Directly below that the site redirect
displays: “http://retiredgeek.net” as it should. -
It seems you had purchased a ‘Site Redirect’ upgrade instead of a ‘Domain Mapping’ upgrade. I’ve just fixed this for you and the domain is working now.

@kardotim: You’re awesome!!
I just went back and looked at how WordPress offers users how to use their custom domains for a blog on WordPress, and it’s rather easy to make the mistake I did. I simply followed a couple of links for using my custom domain and (obviously) ended up in the wrong place.
I realize I made the error, but it might be helpful if before pushing any final commitment buttons there was a warning that said “You are about the select ‘Redirect Your Domain’…if you meant to select ‘Domain Mapping’…click here.”
Again, thank you so much for fixing this!
