Why isn't my display name showing in WordPress ap

  I just down,aided the WordPress ap, and when I posts comments, wordpress is using my user name rather than my ‘display name’ ?

  I am an active commenter on several blogs, and want my display name to come up.

  I’m assuming you are referring to a WordPress.COM account. Have you used this guide? https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname

  Did you use it before or after you connected the app?

  Yes, and yes to your questions.

  When I go to my profile page, I have a username (which is not what I want to appear on my comments,) and I have a display name, which is what I would like to have show on my comments.

  Just now I downloaded the WordPress ap from the Apple Store, b/c on my iPad WordPress constantly freezes and then reloads.

  When I made my first comment via the ap, it automatically used my username, and within the ap there is now way to change it. Even under my account.

  Hope I’m making sense!

  I believe the answer may be this one but I could be wrong. Your username when it comes to posting to the forums (and possibly when it comes to using the app) will not change. The display name change will only be visible on the blog.

  I guess it’s just a limitation of the ap :(

  I just thought I’d give the ap a try since the site goes wonky on my iPad.

  NJF, can you link us to a comment thread where the old name shows? Also, just to confirm, you have added new comments after changing your display name, right?
