Why isn't my email with Register.com working?

I have entered the MX and CNAME info in my DNS records.

    MX 10 07.register.com.
    CNAME webmail05.register.com.

WordPress does not accept the above format. But when I enter it this way:

    MX 10 07.register.com.
    CNAME webmail05 register.com.

It’s accepted. However, the email isn’t working and customer support at Register.com advised me to contact you because I had the proper MX and CNAME.

Here’s the error message I get when entering CNAME webmail05.register.com

CNAME records should be “CNAME <subdomain> <domain>”. No wildcards (*).

Your MX record looks fine. I’ve just made a change to your CNAME record. The CNAME record is just to link mail.maiw.org (or a different sub-domain) to Register.com’s webmail site.

If support at Register.com says the MX record is 07.register.com, then you should be able to send a receive e-mail using that MX record.

Could you please give it another try? if you get any error message when sending e-mail let Register.com know so they can take a closer look at your mail hosting account.
